1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I am boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. it does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where are are prophecies, they will cease; where are are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.

Thanks for the comment on my 4th blogiversary post!! Hubs and I had 1 Cor 13 read in our wedding 40 years ago so it is always special for many reasons to me!

Do you have yellow squash where you live? Here is what I had for supper last night....Very Southern indeed and I might add....delish!

5 lbs med yellow squash
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup bread crumbs plus more for topping
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 stick butter (think Paula Deen) softened
1/4 cup sugar
salt as needed
dash ground black pepper
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cut up squash and boil until tender. Then mash.
In a large mixing bowl, combine squash, eggs, the 1 cup bread crumbs, onion, butter, sugar, cheese, salt and pepper. Pour into a 3 qt. casserole dish that has been lightly sprayed with veg. spray. Cover with a light layer of bread crumbs.

Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown.
Makes 10 servings.

Makes my mouth water just thinking how good this is! Enjoy!
Blessings!

Yummy. Thank you Judy. I can not wait to try it. I too love Paula Deen. I think she has never met a stick of butter she didn't love. I keep waiting for the show where she will teach all of us how to make our own butter. God bless you and "Hubs"! Lisa
